Anyone been there lately? I may want to fish it but need some information/directions.

Schuler, I would start at waubesa. It's the easier of the lakes to fish. Plenty of weed flats and sunken islands, rock, ect. Easy to spot, lots of panfisherman there, just work around them. The fhs maps are very useful too. I have not been there this year but the chain may have already algae bloomed making the fishing tougher. To get to waubesa, get to I-39 or I-90 north and get off at the 12/18 exit west and then 51 south into the town of mcfarland. The launch will be on the west side as you cross the river. The gas station(mobile I think) in town sells licenses if you need one. One other nice thing is you can troll. Good luck and post how you do.

As usual with the Madison Chain, I have been seeing a lot of fish but not putting any in the boat. The weed lines are good, but try casting from the weed line out instead of in, you will find a better quality of fish.

Waubesa had surface temps of 85F Monday night before the rain, lower 80's to 78 after the rain. Starting to get some serious color to the water but not the full blown crap it gets in a week or so.

Weedlines are good but look outward as mentioned.....lot of supsended baitfish (perch crappies) right now and with the warm water they are not liking the shallows...

Good luck

Cory

Was out in the wind and waves last night 6:30 - 8:00. No action other than a 40+" ski that surfaced nearby (not near my lure).

Lots of weeds are gone due to lake property owner's spraying.
