Ran across this video today of what looks like a leopard muskie. I thought leopards were only found on Eagle Lake, but other videos say these guys are fishing Crow Lake in Ontario. Either way, cool looking fish!

Unbelievable. I'm not in the market (money) to get a replica of a fish right now regardless of the size, but if I ever caught a good sized leapord I would think twice. Those fish look #1 in my book. Congrats to them!

thats fish is awesome. i bet a repo of that would cost alot just cause of the markings but it would be worth it. i thought a leopard ski had spots with cricles around it like a leopard, anyone?

There is a really good post from a while back on what a leopard muskie is, you can find it easily by doing a search. Larry Ramsell shared some good insight on that one. I don't know what makes them get this odd color phase, but I know it's sweet!

IMO that's a tiger. I see solid stripes on the side and spots on the fins.

I have caught a few tigers from that body of water that look similiar although I don't remember that much worm marking on the top of the head. I'd have to say tiger.... Stunning fish none the less.

Glad you all like the video. I actually shot it out of my boat and was fishing out of Muskie Bay Resort with Jake Trinkner and also had Robin Holden from Shady Roost Resort and Jon Beaushene from Nestor Falls Fly In Outposts in the boat. It was Jon's first night out trolling with us and this is his personal best so far. We've caught a lot of different pattern and color variationed fish out of Crow over the years. Spotted and barred fish are the norm, but about 1 in 20 is a 'leopard' with black spots going down their back with a lighter 'halo' around them. Very unique and beautiful fish. This one was unlike anything I've ever seen in my 30 years chasing muskies. Not an exceptionally large fish, but still a real 'trophy' fish to be proud of. Pattern down the back almost looked like a muskie mated with an eelpout out of LOTW. Very unusual. I don't know about it being a 100% pure stain muskie, but it wasn't a first generation hybrid either as all of the fins were pointed and not round at all. It has been a while since I've posted on here and I've forgotten my logon info or I could have posted a couple more pics

my lake cabin had a dead 53" on shore 2 years ago and had leopard markings on it...I saw the guy catch it, had the fish out of water too long and then released it....found it 2 days later, same fish. I talked to the guy at my dock and showed pictures of his catch. This was not on a musky lake but was on a lake that was stocked 20+ years ago but very few remain left in the lake.
