| I bought all of my supplies for networking an lcx-17 to a globalmap 5200c. What I ended up doing was connection my 3 T's together so they were all in a line and then put the 120 ohm plugs on the very two ends of the group of T's on the top 3 spots left from each T I connected the gps pod to one T, the other went to the Lcx-17, and the last spot was for the globalmap. All of the supplies were the newer stuff and it is a model 3000 pod and I ended up just buying a adapter cable that went into the back of the 17. (This is what Cabela's told me to do.)The problem is my 17 just says gps signal not acquired or something like that. What did I do wrong? Why wont it work? |

Location: Wisconsin | Did you power up the network? Either with the network power plug or the NMEA 2000 power off the power cord of the Global or 17.

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Here are a couple of things to check.
What software do you have on the LCX-17? Since your running the 3000 puck, you'll need the most up to date software on that unit. You should have 1.6 update on the 17. The 5200 should have the 2.4 update.
Are you getting a signal for the 5200?
How bout the power? You should only have one of the NMEA power cords powered. If you have both, it won't work.
Let me know if you've gone through all those things, I can call a Lowrance technician and ask him if your problem continues. |

Location: Waconia, MN | I just checked and the 17 does have the latest update 1.6 The 5200 has been working perfect every time I use it.
I'm not sure what you mean by having power to NMEA. I have the power cord, transducer cord, and the network cord plugged into the 17. The global map has the power cord and the the network cable plugged into that one.
Directly from the global map is the network cable that connects into one of the T's. The 3000 pod is going into one T and the other I had plugged the network cable from the 17 into the last T. |

The 5200 is plugged into the network as I described it and is working perfectly fine |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Ok then. It's definitely the 17 that is having issues. Have you checked all your power connections? How many power cables have you run? That unit has two power options, if you have both powered at the same time, it won't work, only one of the NMEA power cables need to be powered. You've already got power from your 5200 that is powering the gps puck. I would check your connections again on the 17.
Another suggestion, try putting dialectic grease on your connections, that will help also. |
