Hi everyone,

For the first time in over 30 years I will be crossing INTO Canada via International Falls/Fort Frances. A few years ago I came back to the US through International falls and could not believe the delay at the border....a headache and then some. How is it crossing into canada? Is there any sort of delay, and if so, how long could I potentially be looking at around 1:00 or so in the afternoon on a Friday?

Thanks much for any "heads up" people can supply me with.

I went up and crossed into Canada on Sunday July 5th, at 11 am. no delay and no hassles. waited about 5 minutes.

Came back on Friday July 10 about 11 a.m. Traffic backed up all across bridge, about a 45 minute wait. I asked border dude if I picked a bad day and time and he said "NO, it's normally about an hour lately".

Have a good one.

I went through twice this yr. No issues and no waiting. I also noted the crossing going in when exiting as also light.

My dad will not go through the border on saturday for good reasons. Our first year we went through on a saturday and waited at least 2 hours. We usually go through friday or sunday and have no wait at all. I'd recommend sunday over friday tho.

The key is to cross the border at an "off" time.

If you plan on on crossing either side of the border between 9-11 am on Saturday morning you might be asking for trouble on the wrong vacation week. I usually cross before 8 AM on the way up ( if not cross that night and stay in Ft Frances), and I always go back into the USA before 7 am

We went over on Sat 7/11 at 11am and it only took about 5 mins...coming back at 2pm Fri 7/17 was shorter....but the line going into Canada was backed up past Border Bob's.
Both ways the Guards were great.
