| Looking for help or info. i am haeding to Canada in a few weeks and was wondering what the hot bait has been so far this year. I am not looking for lakes or your secret hotspots. But every year there seems to be a certain lure for what ever reason, or who know's why, that stands out more then others or should I say is "the hot bait". has anyone heard what is the lure that has put big fish in the boat so far this year, and not last year or in the past. Looking to pick up a few of what is working now.
Thanks for the help.

Location: Southern Ontario, Detroit River and Lake StClair | I guide in my part of Ontario and there for spend alot of time on our local waters. This year has been different than recent past ones. Water temps are lower than normal, weed growth is behind and the water has been clearer aswell. Normally this time of the year we've been having a heavy bucktail bite. This year though we've done much better on glide baits (Smutly Dogs, Magic Makers, Amma Bamaa, Rapala Glide, etc.) aswell as shallow Mag BullDawgs fished with a stop and go like a glide bait. Deffiantly an off year in reguards to technics, the fishing has still been good though. My fishing partner just returned from a trip to the Karwartha's and came back with pretty much the same type info. Hope this helps you out.
Good Fishin'
