I bought some off shore releases for trolling DCGs but it doesn't take very much preasure to pull the line out of them I even tried a loop around one side of the release and can pull the line out with ease. Any tricks? First time pulling boards for muskies ,will be fishing at night don't want to wonder if my line has released.

Which release did you buy? If you get the OR18 off shore snapper release, they will hold just about anything you put behind them, even with braided line. Here's a link to them http://www.offshoretackle.com/OR18.html The others are okay for holding other baits like cranks and such but you can run anything with the OR18s.

Put OR18's on the front and the releases designed for snap weights on the back, NOTHING will pull out of these - NOTHING!

I'm running OR-18's in the back and 16's in the front and haven't lost a board yet.

I modified the stock clips by drilling a small hole and tapping it, then cutting down a machine screw, and rounding off the sharp edges - works like a charm the pic should be self explanatory- I do not remember the size of the machine screw as I did this over a year ago, but you should be able to pick some up at the hardware store.
Good Luck !
