Who's using them and what do you think? I'm tired of lowrance and their units flashing over shallow weeds (even with updates and settings adjusted) and the fact that their HDS units are released but don't quite work and immediately need updates. That's just not how you should do business.

So i'm shopping and interested in what others have experience with.

I have used the Humminbirds for about 4-5 years now. The side imaging 997 and 787 have been the 2 units I used most and this year I purchased a 1197.

I love them. Very user friendly and I like some functions much better. The gps and zoom are much better. The down side is they do not have sunrise/sunset and moonrise/moonset.

I would recommend them to anyone.
