![]() Posts: 139 Location: Slippery Rock, PA | I'm picking up my new boat(lund rebel) and need some suggestions on adding rodholders. I don't want to clamp them on the sides of the boat and was wondering what would work best. Any pics or suggestions would be helpful! Thanks. I got 4 salty double clamps to add.

The way I look at it, there is no way you can get four on the transom and keep the lures running far enough apart to make it worth while running four unless you have a mast and big boards to get two out away from the boat or run two lightweight lures on inline boards. Even then it would be a mess when a fish hits unless you have lots of free hands to get the other lines out of the way seeing how a fish will inevitably end up behind the boat unless you stop it. My ideal setup would be two holders on the sides up front for board rods, or two in the middle for long rods to be used as flat lines, and two on the corners on the transom for deep divers or heavy weights. What is the problem with clamping the holders to the sides?

![]() Posts: 139 Location: Slippery Rock, PA | It's not so much a problem as I would rather rig them up so they're not clamped on the sides . I figured most make some sort of a bracket to place them on so they can be up off the sides and/ or removed as needed. Just looking for suggestions here.

I've used three different ones over the years and most were either swivel tube types, made by Bystrom I believe, where they were attached to a screw in base with a long allen screw through the holder swivel, or had bases bolted into the gunnels from the sides where they just pushed down into them ala Robert's, or rail mounts like my current Folbe holders. In my opinion, the Folbe holders are the best by far of all the ones I've ever used including the Down East variety. Sorry I couldn't offer any better ideas.
