How do you guys deal with weather that is cloudy, with rain thats on and off and air temps in the 50s and this same weather goes on for a few days. Any tips you guys use to get bit or move fish during stuff like this?

Thanks for the help guys,
Rob

I used to worry about cold fronts. I'd go but would fish like I wasn't expecting the fish to bite. You don't fish the same way when you have a negative attitude so it became a self-fufilling prophecy. It got to the point I just wouldn't go sometimes. I think fishing with a negative attitude is way worse than a cold front. Finally, I decided not to worry about the weather. Unless there is thunder/lightning or super high winds, I go!

Oops, I kind of went off on a tangent. You weren't complaining you were looking for advice. You can downsize, slow down retrieves, etc. I will do that but usually stick with the baits that I know work in ideal conditions.

Sounds like you may live or fish in northern Wi. I have had the same type of weather and lack of action. I would recommend jerk and pause or glide and pause style of baits. I really have gone against the grain this year and have throw big baits early (magnum dawgs and double 10's) with little to no success. On the other hand some of my friends have stuck to traditional early season tactics (slow and small) with some good success. All that being said we have had some tuff weather up here but fishing should soon pick up with warmer weather and water.

This is a weird spring. I've been dealing with similar weather and on certain lakes the fish are going on all gliders, certain lakes are all double-8's and double-10's, and certain lakes have fish going on bucktails being burned over new weeds.

Change it up until the fish tell you what to use. Don't discount anything because of general rules of thumb.
