Heading up to Park Falls area this week for my bachelor party. Dad and I are fishing his old stomping grounds on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wondering if any has any info on Pike and Round Lake, I wasn't real successful last year but I am hoping to turn my luck around before my big day. Any info would be great. Also any info on the condition of Highway 70 would be very helpful, I have heard many different stories.,,

Thanks for any help you can give me...

Hey Coach--70 is closed from the Oneida/Vilas Co. line, to the Price/Oneida line. If you're coming up Hwy 13, you can go east on 182 to Shady Knoll Rd, then go south to Round/Pike. If you're coming up 51, they have a detour to go north on 47, to west on 182. I don't have any info on the lakes as of yet, but you should have a quiet time out there. Good luck, Joe

I have only been out there a few times, but I have seen the most fish on Amik Lake ( part of the chain), including one real nice 45+" fish. The problem is the lake is very weed choked and lure presentation can be difficult

Amik and Turner are good till July, especially Amik. Trolling is legal on Round and Pike, and as fish like to suspend this time of year you might want to try that around the reefs on the north end of Round.

You can get to Pike/Round from 13 on 70. You can't get there from 51 on 70.

if you are in park falls you are where you want to be. go fish the smith lake pool and then the 9 mile landing west on 70. that river is one of the favorite places i could list and much better than driving toward minocqua and anything you'll find in-between.

Johnny...The only reason we are in Park Falls is to fish the Pool you mention

I actually have to make a run to Rollie and Helens and pick up a few things since Musky gear in Illinois is now a memory, after that up to Mercer we go

Try the St. Croix factory store in PF. They got a lot of muskie stuff in there. Its no R&H but its not a 1 1/2 hour drive either.
