I want to install 4 trolling rod holders on my 1850 Sportfish. I know zilch about what brand or what type to use. If I mount 4, should 2 be right behind the driver and passenger front seat and 2 towards the back? Thanks. Also, don't want to spend alot of money because I am hoping to buy a Ranger Reata 1850 in the next 1-2 years.

I bought the Folbe's over the winter and they are great. They are strong and the quick release is very easy to use. I can't imagine breaking these things under any normal fishing condition. That would be my suggestion and they are under $40, I think.

I mounted mine just as you described. I also bought the risers for my front two holders so they are up higher for my board rods.

down east salty's are the best way to go.. metal only stay away from plastic forget to set drag and the rod/reel and holder will be gone for sure...bill

i also use them on a crestliner tournament 1850 with track's you can put them on and take them off and nothing is better. and you can install the track systems anywhere on the gunnels front or back of the boat...bill
