for midwestern waters and ones i've personally fished, this would be my answer and rank Eagle Lake - NW Ontario LOTW - NW Ontario Vermillion - Minnesota Bemidji Area - Minnesota Wisconsin River - Wisconsin Oneida County from rhinelander to Wausau all unique but all worth the trip.

Posts: 335 Location: Minnesota | I don't think Musky53 put up the same lake 5 times - those are 5 different lakes that just happen to all share the same name!

Posts: 785 | I don't fish anything that far east but obvious big name lakes that aren't terribly far from Ohio would be Lake St. Clair/Detroit River, Georgian Bay/Moon River, and Green Bay. There's also some fair lakes in Ohio (at least I've read some articles about some in musky hunter magazine). Not going to mention them for the sake of those who do fish them but it's worth looking into.

I just got back from the Warren area in PA ( Allegheney River ) not to far from OH. We had a great time boated a few. Some great people and some cool waters of different types. Fish dont get much presure either. Look at Allegheny expo post for more info as far as bait shop with info.

GREEN BAY Has everything, dirty water, clean water, current, river system, rock, cliffs, weeds, sand mud. Best part is you will always learn something new due to its size Has it all. Love it!!
