| Hi all
I would like to take a moment and tell you about a movement that is happening. On march 6th 2009 a pro-ethanol lobbying organization called growth energy aligned with 54 ethanol manufactureres and formally requested that the EPA allow a increase of ethanol blends from E10 to E15 That is percentage. On april 21st the EPA published a notice for comment in the Federal register, beginning a 30 day public comment period. It ends 5-21-09
Most outboards are not equipt to handle any more ethanol than they have in the blend right now. This will make the O.B. Companies spend more money at R&D to compensate and will cause engine prices to rise. It evaporates faster than gasoline and leaves deposits beind that can plug and wreck your injection systems. Its time to stand up.
go to HTTP://capwiz.com/nmma/home/ to quickly and easil send your comment to the EPA.
Urge them to deny the E15 waiver
Please spread this through the fishing world as we are th main users of outboards and we can make a difference really easy.
Thanks |

Location: On the X that marks the mucky spot | Not only is ethanol bad for your engine, it's also bad for the environment. The amount of fresh water that is used to create ethanol is around 6:1. There are aquifers that are going dry in MN from the "corn cookers". The current level of ethanol mandated isn't sustainable much less increasing it to 15%. |

| You know, it doesn't really matter what the facts are, the politicans will not change the mandate to use ethanol. The corn lobby and the money given to the corrupt governmental officals will not allow common sense to pervail.
We are stuck with it so get a row boat!

Location: Land of the Musky | I work for XXXXXXX and they are one of the giants in the Ethanol industry. I have seen the numbers and I can tell you, Ethanol is just something to make people happy (and make companies a LOT of money) and is not even a small "patch" on the energy deficit. Not only that but it raises the prices of most of your food by a large amount. Not JMO but a fact! |
