| The fishing has been really tough out there. Water levels are back up again and as of last weekend there was some flood warnings for the area. When you combine that with the fact that the fish are spawning you get some tough fishing. The water temps are running around 50 degrees right now but with the warm forecast it should be going up. As for fish catches they have been slim. The reports I have heard are mostly blanks however as always there has been a few caught here and there. It seems like almost everything taking lures is small males mostly 27-32 inches. Having said this I did have a client boat a nice 42.5 incher last Friday with me however that fish was certainly a long time in the making and marks the biggest fish in my boat this year thus far. I would say that with the warm forecast the fish should be done spawning some time toward the end of next week and maybe then Webster will start getting back on track for the first time all season. |

Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | Water temps are in the mid to upper 40's right now and fish are not really spawing....they are doing the exact same thing they have done the past two springs. March was a warmer month than April, which brought the fish up shallow fast, but with temps a good 10 degrees away from optimal spawning temps, I would definately say they are not "hot and heavy" into spawn yet. Heading out there again in about an hour, e-mail me if you need any info: [email protected] |
