Too stiff for anything under 2 oz. doesn't load up very well on those smaller baits. I'd use for just about anything else, though.

i totally agree with flambeauski. i have a custom croix TM86XHF built by keith at proedge, which is the Legend version of the PM86XHF, and from what i here from those that have used both they are pretty much the same action-wise. in my opinion it is a great rod for mid to heavy-weight baits. i use mine for big plastics / jerkbaits / glidebaits and it works just fine for db 10's as well. you just can't go wrong with the PM86XHF or the TM86XHF. i have a daiwa luna 300 on mine and it is a very nice combination...

I also have one built by Keith. So far I like it a lot. I used it for everything but small baits (under 2oz). It really shined on gliders and big rubber (mag to pounder size). It is a little heavy though, when I picked up a lighter blank it felt good compared to it.I had a Tica round reel on it and it worked well. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a rod for the heavier baits.

This rod is too light for pounders IMO. You can try it, but I don't think it will work too well. I own one of these and I wish it was more stiff.

I have 2, I liked the 1st 1 enough to buy another a week later. I now mostly use it for rubber, but throw blades a little with it. As others have said, I wouldn't throw real small stuff with it, but from kickin minnows-pounders I like this rod.

All purpose?

If I was getting in someone elses boat, and could only bring 1 of my rods, this would be the one. I like a slightly softer rod for topwaters though.

I am afraid of a rod much stiffer than this one for controlling a fish. IMO, Much less give than this one has will lead to more lost fish. I really believe this is a good rod.
