1) clear water, sunny
2) 4' visibility
3) <2' visibility
anything change for you in sunny vs. overcast? |

This is based on what worked for me last year. This year will probably be different. Most of my success with these colors is because that's 90% of what I threw. I have about 50 different color combos, and there are a bunch that I've never thrown. Maybe one of the other colors would have caught a few more, but it's hard to put down the two that were working. I did move a couple big fish on a double 13 with salt n pepper flash and nickel blades. That color is one of my favorites, along with the rainbow / nickel. |

Location: SE Wisconsin | I'll post some pictures tonight of my ideal three. I tend to lean towards natural colors. I like a light brown/gold for clear and tannic stained water, as well as black/pearl/silver for clear water - These are ideal for low-light conditions as well, but my favorite low-light color is green and black.
You will see me casting some bright colors under sunny skies too. |
