Muskie Fishing -> General Discussion -> Team Treats

I have to say it was a tough day. I left my house in mpls @ 10:00 to go up to Lake Alexander which is roughly a 2 hour drive (cuz Cady was up there working on Familyfirst.com). Note: I have NEVER fished this lake before (talk about giving the cometition a chance)!!! I didn't get to the launch till around 3pm (5 hours later) w/ all the road construction. Then, with the launch in sight I blow a tire. This was expecially bad since I had just used my spare 2 weeks prior and was scheduled to go in and get 4 replacements next week. So off to Brainard (45min each way) to find a tire shop. Goodyear did a bang-up job and got me in and out in 10min (and $82.50.)

Once on the lake, high skies and wind made it tough. Didn't see a fish until around 7:30. After cady and I missed a couple on jackpots and Muskie Treats, I stuck a FAT 45"er in the 9th inning right before dark on a jackpot. I think this one was a member of B.A.S.S. because it jumped and tail-walked more then any bass I can remember. Steve's got the pic on his digital and should have the pic up later.

I don't think that it's going to be enough to beat the 5 fish under 35" that those Skonny boys are sure to have [;)] , but it's the second longest and probably the heaviest muskie for me. A bright spot on an otherwise crappy outing. Funny how the day can pickup with just one strike [:)]

To add to Mr. Treats story....until I showed up he hadn't seen a thing. I put us on a few HOT spots and in the hour before dusk we moved quite a few. By the way Mr. Treats what did you catch that on again? A jackpot? They don't catch fish! hehehehahahahheheaha

Wait until I take you up north this fall....

Congrats guys, Our body of water was very slow and seemingly void of fish. We could only muster up one bite. This one was a nice 37" but not nearly enough to beat that 45" pig that treats got. Good going guys, hope that you keep on winning..............I lost to a team with Cady on it. I don't know if I can ever go fishing again.[:((] [:((] [:((] [:((]
