I recently bought a used 04 Wisconsin Lakemaster chip for my Eagle Fish Elite 500c. when I put the card in I could bot pull any of the maps up on the screen. I went to the system information page and the unit itself recognizes that the card is there but I can not get the info. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong or how I can fix it. I read through the owners guide for the unit, but everything I tried just doesnt seem to work. Any help would be appreciated.

Go into the Menu and find the Map Data section. Under there, it should be a selector to pick map data. If it is Navionics the maps won't show. Probably will need to be in Lowrance mode for the Lakemaster lakes to show.

I did that but all I have is a selection for Eagle, there is no Lowrance option.

Yep, in that drop down box, I only have an Eagle and Miami Demo option, thats it. I went to the Eagle and Lowrance website and even uploaded a software upgrade to the unit and those were the only two options that were there. Is thre another download that I need to install oon the Unit itself???

I would try putting the chip in another unit and seeing if it works. I would bet that the chip got some kind of moisture on the back of it and is causing this issue. The Navionics and Lakemaster chips are very sensitive to any kind of moisture. It doesn't take much to ruin one.

The person that I bought the chip from had insured me that it worked in his Lowrance before he shipped it off to me. He did have his chip in an lowrance unit. When I have the chip in my unit and I go to check the system info, it reads that the chip is in the unit, thats whats weird. Kinda frustrating!

Is your software updated?

http://www.eaglenav.com/en/Products/Fishfinder-Chartplotters/FishEl...

When you look at the system info for the chip, you don't see other files on the chip other then the maps do you? I have seen people accidently delete the chip by trying to save waypoints to it and when you look at the files there are a couple of extra files on there. Check those two out and like previously stated try it in another unit to make sure it works. Hopefully that gets it.

Stop in any Gander or Cabelas and ask to put the chip into a newer unit and see what happens. If the unit reads the chip, but maybe the data is corrupt as mentioned.

Yeah, I'm guessing the chip has been corrupted or has gotten moisture in it. Make sure the chip is unlocked also.

Oh, just remembered. Take the chip out and compare it thickness wise to your camera's mmc card or a different mapping chip. Lakemaster had a run of chips that were like 1/64th of an inch thicker then normal and those chips didn't work in a lot of units.
