| Heya there. I'm looking for creative suggestions regarding $obsticals$ to making a new-to-me boat safe and dependable. Check it out....
Last year I traded a totaled Explorer for a beat-up 1990 Astro Quickfire 18FS bass boat. This is a bad a$$ project boat; it has fine lines, has a 150 Merc Black Max that so far I think is sound, as is the transome upon which it sits. Way cool boat, origanal price was $18,000. I'll never have another opportunity to move up to this level of quality but......I'm broke and it sure needs work.
My problem is that I'm on disability and my monthly income barely covers my monthly bills. I'm not whining, lots of people need help these days and my situation is better than many other folks. Considering my current situation and the foreseeable future I won't have the funds necessary to just go out and buy what I need for the boat. But on the positive side I think I can do everything myself and so there's no labor costs.
I anticipate the question "What do you have to offer, Ranger?" Well, I have many baits I could trade away. I could offer someone to stay a week (or weekend) at my lake house here in southwest, MI. I rebuild and trick out older Abu 5000 and 6000 series reels. I make great flouro and straight wire leaders, plus awesome quickstrike rigs. And if it comes down to it, I have some hunting guns, two in particular, with which someone could maybe pry from my hands. (Note!: I have a set of Ruger 44Mags for deer hunting. One is a TOTALLY tricked-out Ruger Super Blackhawk revolver and the other is a Ruger 77/44 bolt action rifle with a Leopould scope. Both are simply amazing; I need a whole paragraph just to describe the work I had done on that pistol.)
So, do you have any ideas on how I might obtain the parts I need without having to simply pay the bucks necessary for outright purchases from suppliers?
