Posts: 463 Location: Sw Pennsylvania | While i haven't had one yet, i have one already planned out for my buddy who is getting married in july. I too like you am the best man in the wedding. I looked more into a trip before the wedding. We talked about a lake erie walleye charter and a few other trips. We finally decided on a 2 day guided musky trip down to cave run w gregg thomas. While it will be just the 2 of us, none of the other guys in the wedding fish so no big deal... not a traditional "bachelor" party but you can drink and get out of control at the wedding!! lol

I'm going to one in May on Leech Lake. They rented a cabin that sleeps 22. Fishing, drinking, and gambling. What could be better?

When I got married (Sept 2007) my brother (my best man) took my dad and I on a 3 day trip to the St. Larry/Ottowa with Marc Thorpe. I love my brother!

We had my brother's bachelor party at the lake as well. We rented out a cabin for 3-4 days, brought up 3-4 boats, everybody had a great time. Fished some, drank some, had a few beers by the fire, etc... I wouldn't waste the money on Vagas, just get a small cabin somewhere and enjoy it.

Posts: 238 Location: Rhinelander | Vegas is the wrong kind "fish". All the young guys suggest Vegas.......I went thru that phase also. Go North to someone's cabin or rent one. Fish during the day and run at night........have a small town nearby with a few bars and have fun with the local girls. They may not be pretty but keep you warm at night. If in WI, what happens north of 29 stays north of 29.

Posts: 23 | You could get each guest one of those spinners with the swimsuit model on the blade. Not a Musky spinner, but it would fit with the theme.

Posts: 225 Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | I planned a fishing bachelor party this past fall... fishing on Mille Lacs at a resort. The resort was incredibly accommodating- to the point of letting us out of one of the three cabins we had reserved with very little advance notice (had a big group planned, but some of the guys had something come up at the last minute and couldn't make it). Everyone had a great time. We brought a few boats up, did some fishing during the day, grilled, bs'd, played some cards, and there was a bar at the resort for when we were tired of hearing our own stories over and over again. A few guys went out on the launch the resort has for some night fishing, too. I think bachelor parties depend greatly on your group. We had a really big group of guys, with cost being an issue for a bunch of us. Vegas (or even going bar-hopping downtown) would have cost more than many could have ponied up. But going to Mille Lacs cost everyone about $60 for two nights lodging, food and beverages. Pretty darn good bang for the buck, in my opinion... Weddings are expensive enough. Have a great time, whatever you decide!

Rented cabins , even had a mini Musky Tournament for 1 of them ( 9 boats ) we were fortunate everybody in the wedding party like To fish SKI's . There are enough bars and places for live entertainment in the northwoods , But whatever you choose I am sure it will be a blast!! Hooke em Hard SAINT 1

Posts: 1185 Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | Mine and my brothers second were at our cabin in Minocqua with many good friends musky fishing, then Weasel's and the Frontier. My best memory was everyone standing around the camp fire at night, cooking sticky chicken wings, passing a bottle of Jack and it was snowing heavily. It was October 7th.

Posts: 190 | I took had my bachelor part in sw florida. Went went snook fishing with long time guide and friend brain sanders out of chocoloskee (not sure how to spell it) it is the last thing before flamingo and 45 minutes south of Marco island. It is my favorite place to fish by far. we caught about 200 snook between three boats, not to mention permit, shark, red fish, and jew fish. I highly recommend it. I can't get you the couple guides numbers I have used in the past. Brian is the best, but you pay through the nose. On the other hand, he sunk his own barges, runs a professional team for Hawaiian Tropic fishing kings, and knows the 10,000 like the back of his hand. I have been fishing with him for more than 10 years and have never had a time where we didn't catch a tons of fish and have a good time. Other guides, can be a lot cheaper, but can be hit or miss. As a musky fisherman, I would opt to ditch it for a bachelor party to much work for non musky fisherman. + florida has sun, fun, and the Snook Inn
