Posts: 265 Location: McGuire AFB, NJ | Alright guys, anybody use them, if so whats your take? My dad is looking to purchase one and I know nothing of the sort. He's looking at the Lowrance LMS 522 C with Internal GPS. Anybody own one or use anything similar in this price range? ($500-700)

Posts: 529 Location: Not Where I Want To Be | They are very nice units. If you look around you should be able to find one cheaper than 5-7 hundred. As soon as Lowrance announced there New HDS Units the 520's / 522's and x-28's and some other one's i'm missing all went on sale.

Posts: 357 Location: Long Prairie, Minnesota | Chris: Have a 520 for the console on my boat and like it very much. In fact, I am in the process of buying another one for the bow of my boat right now. If you look at Cabela's or Reeds, they have great slaes on them right now. Reeds is selling them for 469 with free shipping. Can't go wrong with dat!!!

Posts: 31 Location: Fairfield, IA | I have a Lowrance X135 on the console. A bigger screen would definitely be a plus, if you're willing to spend the cash. My does not have GPS so I run a separate GPS for marking. I will get another one, next year, for the bow and will likely get one with GPS inbedded. I'm sure there are people who really like their brand, other than Lowrance, but there are so many choices out there from Lowrance, you can get what you need to meet your need. They are a proven business and have figured this out. Good Luck, Dave.

Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | WalleyeFIRST was at the Northeast Sport Show this weekend and did three interviews with one of the Lowrance Techs about the new HDS units. One clip on the sonar and some of the features, one clip about the gps and it's features, and then another clip about the new side viewer that Lowrance just released information about two weeks ago. This new technology is worth looking at before buying a discontinued unit! Look for the videos about the new Lowrance HDS units sometime late this week.
