Posts: 38 | Hard to find, I would think with the trend going to longer rods not only in musky fishing but all fishing in general boat builders would start making boats with longer rod lockers. Tuffy 1700 & 1760 8ft Lund Predator 1710 8ft Any others????

Comment: I have a 1760 GC, and though it is not in the brochure, with the configuration of the rod locker, I can get 2 8'6" rods in the tubes. Because of the layout, the middle of the locker goes all the way to the front of the boat, meaning for these two tubes you have extra room.

Posts: 3480 Location: Elk River, Minnesota | I have an alumacraft navigator 165 CS and at this point, I have been able to get a 7'-6" in there without a problem. I have yet to put the longest rod in it, but I will do so when the boat gets it's spot back in the garage. Then I can say whether or not an 8'-6" fits.. Steve

Posts: 190 | 175 navigator does but you have to jimmy it around the drain on the right side only. The left is long enough but the hatch doesn't allow for it.

Posts: 1023 | my crestliner fishhawk 1650 can fit rods almost 9' long! I was amazed - and the locker is big but has no tubes / supports. I just pile them in.

I can get 8'3" rods with the in gunnel rod storage on my Alumacraft 175 tournament sport. One of the main reasons I bought that boat.

What about the other Fishhawk models? Isnt the 1650 discontinued? What about the 1600 and 1700 models?

Posts: 1023 | Seriously - my 8 footer fits in easily and my 9' niagara river steelie rod even fits too, but barely. The 1650 is discontinued but the 1600 is actually the same boat basically(same length, beam, depth...), although there may be adjustments to storage space.. The front deck on the 1600 is a little smaller and has one less storage compartment too.

Posts: 214 Location: Central Iowa | I have an 01 fishhawk 1600 that fits 8 footers. Basically the actual rod locker is probably 7' 6" or somewhere close but there's a little gap at the endwall of the locker against the hull that allows longer rods to project through the rod locker and up into the underdeck storage. I know an 8' 6" would fit but I doubt mine would fit a 9 footer.
