| bulldawgs have known problems of not swimming correctly. seems like once they get hit by a fish they get bent but then after straightened...they never act the same again...even flip upside down |

wow, i thought thats one of the reasons MF is here. to help others and share our knowlege with new people to the sport of musky fishing. evernoob, put up as many post as you want and ask as many ? as you want and pay no mind to guys like this. there is alot of us that will try to help you as much as we can.
That is also the reason we have the little "search" button. I know a lot of conversations come up repeatedly, but c'mon. I try to help out the new guy, but it gets a little redundant every now and then. In the last post from EvErNoob, there were many suggestions on how to get the basics down, from books, to movies, to joining the local Muskies Inc. If you read all the posts, there is a lot of info to gather. I love teaching new guys on how to safely catch and release fish. The safety of our Musky comes first. I'm sorry, EvErNoob, if I came off like an a$$, but take the time to read through ALL the posts. There are guys here with more experience in Musky fishing than most of us will ever have. Don't get overwhelmed at going after this elusive fish. It's takes time, and patience. But I will say it again-- JOIN YOUR LOCAL MUSKIES INC. CHAPTER!! Make some friends that are Musky fisherman, and fish with them. Some things you have to learn just being on the water. GOOD LUCK! |

| E-guy---as suggested by a reply in one of your other posts, do invest in at least one Musky fishing instructional CD before you get out on the water after Musky for you're first time. There are several that cover the basics of lure selection and seasonal fish movements. And you'll have an opportunity to observe how to safely and properly release the fish.
You'll get a lot of your questions answered there. |

Yeah, I'm new to Musky's too and I found that "Golden Age" and "Modern Magic" both by Linder's angling edge were really good DVD's that I have watched a couple times each. Golden Age I really liked! |

| I would personally suggest starting w/ Bucher 700 Bucktails (blk/red w/ silver blade, sunset color, or black w/ orange or chartreuse blade). Don't be afraid to go big blades, at least if you know where there are big fish and big baitfish. Jake baits, I agree w/ the recent poor construction of the bulldogs. I am looking forward to trying Shack Attack Curly Sues, and Tackle Industries Rubber Lures. Topwater; I still like the wood: Black Tallywacker and Hawg Wabbler.
