I really enjoy this site and all of the info that the fellow anglers contribute.

I am looking for the best, most durable and easy-to use video camera for capturing the action this season.

I am not concerned about the costs, just something that is easy to use and slime proof.

Sworrall and I have been using the Canon FS100 for about a year now and it's been used for just about everything from in the boat action to on the ice action to interviews at the pro walleye events, it's served us very well. As for getting it slimed, well, not so sure on that but I'd imagine it would be ok if it got some on it. I know we've had some light rain/moisture on ours and it's done fine.

Here is a link to the camera on Amazon, good price too!

What about battery life in the cold?

Neil, to be honest with you, I've never had the battery run down that far to where I could give you a good idea.

That being said, the camera has a standby mode where the camera shuts down when you close the LCD screen and runs very little battery. So when you do have something you wanna shoot quickly, you just flip the LCD screen open and your ready to go. I know I've run the camera at least two full hours on the ice without a charge. Sworrall probably could give you a better idea of battery life in different conditions than I could. Like I said before, the camera has treated us very well.
