My vote went to the sportsman. It's the closest shop, and they're always nice there. So I bike there alot during the summer, and spend all my work money on musky gear:)

My vote went to R & H's. I think their bait selection is awesome with friendly and reliable customer service. Stop in and check them out or check out their website. You won't be sorry.

I voted for Thorne Bro. just because we've been there. Great store, great service. Can't say anything bad about them. But, I'd love to see Rollie and Helens. Live in Southwest Iowa, and Wall Mart looks good. Doug

I added Reeds to the list. Thorne Brothers is my first choice for the selection, the best custom rods, and the knowledgable staff. Thorne's is a great store. I get a little sick thinking of how much money I must have spent there over the years.

I added Reeds because they opened a new location last year on the SW side of Mille Lacs. That location was trip-saver many, many times last season. While staying on the lake in the summer, there's never time to run to Thorne's or order online. For the last-minute or emergency items, it was Reeds to the rescue over and over last year. Though they aren't a full-blown musky shop, I was surprised by the inventory they cover - lots of selection. One of the managers, Lee, is a super wizard with electronics and helped my de-bug a couple glitches last year. Best of all for visitors to the area, they really know what's happening on the lake. For someone who's on the lake almost every day, I was surprised how much those guys knew about what the lake was doing. On a couple occassions, information I got from them about what the perch fishermen were doing actually helped me with musky fishing. Their main store is in Walker which is good for anyone fishing the Leech Lake area. The Mille Lacs store is good for me.

Another vote for Ross's. Not because they are the biggest shop, or even where I get most of my gear, but because they are my favorite, which was the question. Been going there since a wee lad. Then, in college days, would have live sucker and bulk line iou's tacked up in there till some cash fell my way on the following weekend. Heck, where else can you go buy a Bobbie Bait, a couple wild suckers, 20' of anchor rope, a tub of wax worms, a Kit Kat, a used .22 pistol, and a half dozen arrows, all in the same isle??

Mine is Crazy D's in Elk Mound. Lots of info, lots of baits, but don't like all the ciggerate smoke. But if you can put up with that, it's the place to go.

Gander Mountain in Washington Pa.! We don't have alot of muskie shops around SW. Pa., But Skip down at Gander, puts out a really nice selection for us few die hard muskie nuts. I have never been to one of the huge shops up in the North country. But for this area, its our Rollie & Helens! Great job Skip! Keep up the good work!

One time I dropped a wad of about $800 cash while in Thorne Bros' shop. It was found and turned in and they had it all in an envelope at the register at opening the next morning. Guy at the counter totally refused to accept my $50 expression of appreciation. Gotta like that.

One source that I don't see listed is Jackson lures. Friendly folks, excellent customer service and they always throw in a nice to have trinket with the order.

the fishing connecting in Tinley Park, IL is my favorite.i used to live really close to the place(walking distance) and i walked down there all the time. it was before i moved to wisconsin and became a musky fisherman so i didnt buy much musky stuff there, mostly bass, but i got my first two musky lures from that place. and the guys there are awesome too. for being in a Chicago suburb, its one hell of a tackel shop! i wish that it was here in musky land!!

Just a personal note here. I'd like to thank the voters for the strong vote of confidence that you exhibited in R&H Musky Shop. There's a lot that goes into running a musky specific store and all the dealers listed do a fine job. In addition to just providing baits and tackle there are the multitude of other factors that go into the business. Consider exhibiting at shows, supporting musky clubs and tournaments, providing advice and direction on purchases, in store help, etc. Heck the other day one of our guys spent nearly a half hour teaching someone how to make leaders over the phone. We appreciate the fact that times are tough for a lot of folks right now and try to do everything possible to make your shopping experience worth the effort. Thanks again and good luck to all this season.

MTO gets my vote. Aaron's service is phenonimal - he gets items shipped out right away, and will do what he can to accomodate you. On top of his great prices, how can you beat free shipping on orders $50 or more?
3 lures will take care of that. MTO rocks!

Muskie Tackle Online is definetly my favorite online shop. Great products, great service, great prices, and more product and muskie fishing knowledge than any other site or store I have ever visited! I no longer shop anywhere else.
