every winter i restock on lures and line and usually pick up a couple of "new" items to test out. most times there are one or two things that catch my interest and i look forward the most to using next summer. what are you most excited to try out next year?

this year the 2 things that i'm most excited about aren't even lures, and both of them are being marketed by Musky Armor. http://www.muskyarmor.com Mike Hulbert's Net Light: it's just plain a good idea. yep, with a little effort i could probably cobble something together on my own, but it's cheap price makes buying it much more sensible imho. http://www.mikehulbert.com Brandyn Shepherd's bump board: more durable, brighter colors, and it floats. perfect! http://www.muskylink.com Attachments ---------------- light3.jpg (44KB - 141 downloads) light1.jpg (47KB - 149 downloads) board1.jpg (22KB - 140 downloads) board2.jpg (167KB - 142 downloads)

Posts: 41 Location: Moline,IL | I really like the idea of a floating bump board! I believe that is much safer for the fish. Very nice. I haven't bought any new toys yet but I plan buying one of the saltwater reels for double 10s and 13s.

Posts: 574 | I got a new bumpboard, don't plan on floating it, I think diping it before the fish touches it is sufficient, but I really like that it reads right to left and that its color coded. Got a nice camera in fall I didn't get to do too much with other than take pics of fish I netted. Other than that, a new boat would be nice, but what I most look forward to using......................Whatever baits hits the water first! Posts: 3240 Location: Racine, Wi | I was lucky enough to run into Roger Waters and pick up some more Hardheads and a weight set from Jomusky. Can't wait to get those chewed up this year. The one I got last year seemed to attract some fishies to the net. Now with a few more colors and a GOOD weight set, the fish don't have a chance!!!!!

Posts: 956 Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | Hey E-Fly, Add muskies on a fly to my other new toys as well. Ill be building a fly rod (gift) next month for muskies. My wife bought me a gift cert for a local shop to build my own rod. Never tried muskies on the fly. What specs should I try to incorporate in my rod???? I'm thingking 10 wt. but beyond that, since I'm new to the fly casting muskies, I have no idea. reply via PM... dont want to hijack the thread. Karl

Posts: 1289 Location: WI | Lee's Chopper, Corey Meyer Globe and Flaptail, Rylure Flaptail, St Croix Avid reel, and hopefully a new 8.5 or 9ft rod. Don't really need too much new stuff, just need to focus and put the time in.
