June 21st is the 3rd leg of the IA Muskie Team Tournament Trail at 3 Mile Lake. Just reminding everyone to get there registrations in the mail by June 11th. You can still register the day of the tournament but it will be $120 for the entry instead of $100. I got the Clear Lake Tournament results and the Team of the Year point standings posted on the Upper Great Plains Muskies Inc. website. I'm trying to get photos posted but I am having trouble. I'll get them posted as soon as I can. Can't wait to see everyone at 3 Mile! www.muskieclub.com

The thunderstorms cleared through Sunday morning before take-off and the third leg of the Iowa Muskie Team Trail on 3-Mile Lake went off great. We had 10 teams participate in the event and 4 muskies were caught. It was a perfect fit to Fathers day. Clayton and Chris Will took 1st place with a 43 incher, Uncle and Nephew team Dick and Andy Manske took 2nd place with a 39 and 30 inch muskie, and father and son team Dick and Tracy Crail got 3rd place with a 32 inch muskie. The Will’s and Manske’s both had 17 pts. And the tiebreaker was decided by the longest fish caught, the 43 incher. Pictures are up on the chapter website under the photo gallery page and the tournament results and Team of the Year standings and also updated under the events page. Thanks to everyone who has participated and made the Iowa Muskie Team Trail a fun and successful event. The 4th and final tournament is October 4th at West and East Okoboji. There should be some great fishing so be sure to sign up. The tournament is open to everyone. You do not have to be a member of the Upper Great Plains chapter to participate, nor did you have to fish in any of the other tournaments. Just go the website and read the tournament rules and get your entry form sent in to me. www.muskieclub.com Thanks again for everyone’s support! See ya on the water.
