| hey guys, its obvious you all know what youre doing. i am getting started with repaints and some custom finish lures. i have ordered the right airbrush i beleive, but i am in need of some help on the paint side. i will be painting over some factory finishes- do i scuff with paper or pad and what grit? what is the best overall color coating to put thru the airbrush? createx maybe? what do i scuff my color coat with before i apply the first coat of clear? and what would be my best overall brand and type of clearcoat for this type of app for look and durability? thanks alot |

Location: Hugo, MN | Createx is good stuff, scuff the bait with 400 grit first, maybe use a primer over the old paint, and use Envirotex epoxy clearcoat. This is how 90% of us do our baits. Plastic baits are different, and there was just a thread on clear coat vs epoxy that dealt with just that. There is a wealth of knowledge on this board, be a sponge. |
