| Does anyone know if it is legal to use bluegills or crappies as live bait in Wisconsin?
The reason I ask, in our local paper, a man had a picture of a 49.5" muskie he caught and kept while crappie fishing. He was reeling in a crappie when the muskie struck and ended up hooked. Is this a legal fish?
I've heard many simalar stories with the crappie being replaced with bluegill, walleye, northern, etc.

| The 2002 WI. fishing regulations says It is illegal to use gamefish as bait unless they meet any length restriction for the water body you are fishing and are included in your daily bag limit for that species. It didnt list panfish so this probably dont answer your question. |

| Musky Mike that's my local paper also. neighbooring musky
nuts. Alot of fish being kept out of that lake man! As far
as I know as long as this is counted as part of your daily bag limit(okay stop laughing) and the fish is out of that lake I'm pretty sure your in good shape! Bye the way, if
you find yourself stuck for a partner someday I'm on the water at least once a day and am usually flying solo so send an e-mail. Later and goodluck man!
