Subject: Jerkbait Rod

I am thinking about ordering a new jerkbait rod. I used a 6'6" for about 3 years and then went to a 7'6" St Croix avid last year. I was wondering if the 7'6" st croix legend tournament would be a good rod or would something else be better. I also bought a 8'6" legend tournament slingblade rod late last fall. Would that be too long for a jerkbait rod?

"The JERK" by St Croix is the nicest jerk bait rod that I've ever used. Like every other rod in that series, much thought went into the design aspects for casting as well as fighting fish. I used mine for lures from 6-10", gliders and dive/rise. No complaints, only praise.
