add a long lips to a manta and voila
Not quite, turn them upside down and then ad a metal lip on the flat "forehead", now "jaw" and you have the Shark Crankbait.

| Yup, the manta was later made from the same body that the shark was from. I met the inventor of the lure when I was in college(Rex Doroty) and was able to try a few when they first came out. He let me cast the very first manta one day, and I couldn't beleive how 'perfect' that thing glided at the time. The crank did have a shallow lip and deep version. They became one of my favorites for fishing suspendos back in the day. Now, we mostly troll them in the river channels when we do so. My buddy caught a 52.5"er on a Shark 3 years ago. They are a highly durable lure. I remember Rollie and Helens add used to say you could run them over with a truck. Shoot me an email and I'll get a picture of one to you. [email protected] |
