| When trolling over weeds in Canada this fall, a double bladed spinner bait worked for me. With 40' of line, it was just under the surface and the blades broke the surface occasionally.

Location: Indiana | Large SS shads and bucktails have worked for me. I also like the looks of any of the drop belly gliders like gray ghost and beerbellies, but havent hooked up on those yet. |

Location: Freedom, WI | Like missourimuskyhunter said how far back, and what sort of action are you looking for and how big? I have been working on a very shallow running crankbait, caught a few fish but I have not had the time to really go out a give it a serious test. |

| Crane 306, 307 and SS shads. Also second on the suicks and bobbies, unweighted. Spinnerbaits with Colorado blades are also great.

We shortline troll these over and thru the weeds, with ten feet of line and three foot leader, 4mph, rod tip 3 feet obove water, they run about one foot down
If in alot of floaters, 3 foot leader only, rod tip in water, same results
Most of the fish pics are taken on this lure, including the 57 incher last year

| this is kinda off topic but somone brought it up so I thought I would ask... I would like to try trolling bucktails this next season, could someone possibly give me some help? which would be better for this situation double or single blades? |

Location: Indiana | Not a whole lot different to trolling tails versus cranks.
We have caught on single blades and double blades. Sometimes a little extra weight is needed to keep them down. An easy way to do it is to attach a rubber core to the line or use a snap to attach a weight to the swivel on the line end of your leader. There are also snap weights and keel systems. Short line in the prop wash has been the best for us. |
