Do planer boards take away some the action of baits, and what brand/size do you recommend to use putting them directly to your line?

I've not noticed any lure action degradation while using planer boards, even when running the lures back as little as 10 feet.

I use Offshore boards, with the OR-16 Red releases front and back.

I haven't notice any action decrease either. But it is VERY tough to tell when a little snake nothern hits during a windy fall day.
