| Doc Samson classes teach how to use sonar, GPS and mapping, basic and advanced uses of Lowrance.
The classes are the day before the NPAA meeting.

| For any of you guys that want in depth training on the operation of your sonar and GPS units, this is a great class. I took it several years ago, and learned alot. I thought I was pretty good before the class, but I walked out of there even better at reading and interpretting my sonar.
I highly recommend it. |

Probably not very much seeing everything he will be showing is from Lowrance product. However, are there things you could learn that might help with other product, absolutely, imho. But from what I have seen and heard, it's really targeted towards the Lowrance product, obviously.
As already stated, I to would highly suggest Doc's classes. I've had the pleasure of knowing Doc for a few years now and got to spend some time in the boat with him this past summer, he's one teaching machine and full of knowledge! Highly recommended.

| The general understanding sonar will help the Garmin owner. Sonar is sonar. Lowrance uses different colors for echo strength but when I talk about fish, baitfish, weeds, bottom composition it is the same for all manufacturers. However I do spend time teaching the Lowrance features which are different. The class also covers GPS and the Lowrance buttons are different than other manufacturer but the end result is similar. Waypoints, trails and routes are similar. Bottom line, it will benefit the Lowrance user the most and any sonar user will like the section on sonar. The class is for all levels, so the advanced user will have to be patient with the basics and the basic user may never use the advanced features. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I just got back from the annual National Professional Anglers Association conference that was held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this past weekend and I came away from there with a whole lot more knowledge of my Lowrance units. I had the chance to attend Doc Samson's(http://www.hightechfishing.com/) Lowrance school
I attended both his Lowrance class and his mapping class and I can't say enough on how beneficial it was. Doc covered everything from some of the most basic sonar readings on how to identify a fish mark, baitfish marks, the proper transducer placement but most importantly the how to of the unit, setting the features to the correct setting. Doc provided insight on some very simple but very useful tips on some simple shortcut functions, some functions that people just plain don't know about and some things that you can use in combination with your GPS.
The most unique thing of all Doc provided was his Aqua-Vu clips. He had spent numerous hours over the past few years capturing different clips with an Aqua-Vu to share in comparison to his sonar readings.
If any of you have a chance to check one of his Lowrance schools out, I'd highly suggest it. Doc doesn't hold a thing back, he'll answer any questions during any part of the day, you paid to be there so he wants you to get as much out of it as possible. Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I've spent some time in Doc's boat, and his ability to call what's under his rig is exceptional. He mapped the structure off of Anderson Island on the Goon in less than an hour, and sent me a color hard copy.
If you are or wish to be an 'advanced' sonar/gps operator, his DVD series are worth every penny, and then some. |

Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | I too was there. It was great and I can say I will be there again. I have been using a gps for many years. But Doc really opens up and demonstrates the advanced features and their acpplications. Doc has spurred my desire to open up the technology already attached to my boat and use it to the fullest. The reason I say I'll be back is I feel Doc has sent me on a path with a wealth of usable information but with the vastness of the capabilities of the lowrance systems next time I will be able to ask questions born of first hand experience spurred by Doc. Doc certainly has as good a grasp on the applications. At first I thought I was in a bit over my head at least as far as the mapping class goes. I have to say though I left without feeling that I spent money on something I didnt need or couldnt use. Got to meet TJ and other muskie anglers as well. It was nice to see this class was not exclusive to walleyes as some may have thought. What was presented seemed universally applicable. THANKS DOC!

Learn myself by playing with equipment or tips from people in boat or at landings.
All good but not many people I ever met have the real good knnow it all stuff.
Very intresting to me.
Maybe have to try real hard to make a seminar in Minnesota?

| I watched both DVD's, and even though I run Birds, the basic info is awesome on what you are looking at, the basic function is still the same, you need to interpret on what you are looking at.
