Wondering what people's opinions are about different brand engines. I will be looking for a 60 hp. engine down the road, ideally a four stroke but I am also interested in the two stroke Evinrude E-Tec. Anyone have opinions on different engines including the Suzuki engines?

i had over 500 hours on my 2005 yamaha four stroke 60 hp and all that was ever done to it was routine oil changes every 100 hours.ran like a top and trolled beautifully.there are lots of 50-90 hp yammies here on the river and i very seldom hear of any problems.

I have a 2008 E-tec 75. I opted to go this way as it was lighter and cheaper than four strokes. Also liked the simplicity of it for winter use and storage.

I have it mounted on a Lund Explorer 1675. I am very happy with my purchase and have had no problems. Have close to 100 hours on it. It's great on gas, and not very loud. Yes a 4 stroke is a bit quieter at times, but not much that I have noticed.

I run a 40 HP Merc 4 stroke on my puddle jumper, and love the motor. I know several guides who run the Merc 60 HP 4 stroke, and really like the engine.
