Location: New Jersey | I read that some of you use kilz as a primer for wood baits. It says that a latex or oil based paint is what you need to use on the can?? I use createx air brush paint that is water based??
Your thoughts?? Should i try a different primer or will this work??
I am painting some really cool looking baits and topcoating them with envirotex and i want them to stay cool looking (at least for a few fish)

Location: Muskegon Michigan | I use Kilz 2 with stain blocker. I brush it on my big baits like the Dragon Claw and Deepthreats. It seals real well. I use createx water based paints and have zero problems. I sand the dried kilz lightly with old worn out 80 grit paper to knock down any lumps or things. I apply my white base coats right over that. Location: Oregon | Just make sure you let the stuff get completely dry before you start painting. Remember your topcoat will only adhere as well as the coats below it. I like to let it dry at least 24 hours in a warm room, longer if you are patient enough.
