Posts: 2089 | Take a moment today to thank a Veteran for their service/sacrifice. Because of what they do(have done), we have the opportunity to do what we do, including chasing stupid green fish. Thank You! Steve

Posts: 3240 Location: Racine, Wi | You beat me to it Jonesi. Happy veterans day to all of you that have served our country. I never did, so I feel that I owe a ton to you all. Thanks for keeping us free and letting us be able to do as we choose.

Posts: 5874 | Today is a very special day for our Veterans, especially with two wars going on. I would hope everybody says a prayer of thanks to those Veterans of the past wars for providing us the freedoms we have. And every time we see a Soldier, Marine, Airman, Seaman, or Coastie, my wish is to thank them for their service and sacrifice, ensuring our future freedoms. Thanks to you all, and for all that you have done, and continue to do.

Posts: 477 Location: Iowa | I would like to thank all of you, and a really heartfelt thanks to all fellow veterans. Especially the ones that are serving today. It's raining here in Iowa today. I work construction, so I decided the crew would take the day off due to weather. It's the first veterans day I've ever had off. Not sure what to do all day now. Probably haunt the message boards I guess.

Posts: 235 | I want to thank all the men and women that gave so much so we can enjoy our freedom. As a veteran I'm really glad to see the support of everyone today, not like it was in the Nam era.

Posts: 29 | Defintely!! Thanks to all of our Service Men and Women who put their lives at stake so we all can enjoy our lifestyles. All our thoughts and prayers are with you! I think of it even more as my cousin is heading back for another 10 month tour of Afghanistan. He is 40 years old and has been in the service since he graduated High School. 20 years with the 82nd Airborne. His response "just doing my job". Amazing to me is how many times he has been in harms way and to him it is a normal day and something he takes a lot of pride in. Just hoping they all come home safely! GOD BLESS the U.S.A!

Posts: 1266 Location: Stevens Point, Wi. | Why give thanks only one day a year? I'm sure we all know of a disabled vet or a family with a spouse serving away from home who could use an occasional helping hand around the house. Helping with some yard work, some house repairs, or running some errands would be a great way to show your appreciation!

Posts: 4266 | A heart felt thank-you, and special prayers for all who serve or served, and to the families of those deployed and/or have lost loved ones at any time in our countries history. Without them, we wouldn't be us. Thank you all, and God bless you. Beav

Posts: 1714 Location: Mt. Zion, IL | Not only thank you to the veterans, but thank you to the families that have made sacrifices so that those serving ALL the branches of our armed services can protect the freedoms we all take for granted. A prayer goes out to all of you every night, and another to those and the families of those who have lost lives. My father and many of my friends were/are in the military. Thank you for your sacrifices!

Location: Illinois | Not to be a downer here, but here's a sobering fact: The Veterans Administration estimates there are 200,000 homeless vets on any given night. With the temps dropping every day, I resolve to do something this holiday season to help our veterans in need. Though only 9% of the U.S. population have served in the armed forces, 23% of the homeless people in this country are veterans. As part of the 91% who hasn't served, I want to do more than just say thanks- I want to show my thanks. Anyone interested in doing the same can visit http://www.nchv.org/get_involved.cfm and learn more. God bless the troops Mike Witowski Edited by muskellunged 11/14/2008 11:33 AM
