Muskie Fishing -> General Discussion -> adding oil to crankbaits

I know this has been spoken about before by Jlong but I was wondering whether in a single cavity crankbait (hollow lure) the oil won't shift forward when the crankbait dives because then it runs nose down. Does this trick for adding weight to crankbaits only work for those brands that have several cavities inside the lure or will it work anyway?

If it only works properly for those lures that have several cavities, which cavity would I be using then, like say for a Jake 6"?
