Anybody catching anything on lake chautauqua NY ? there a few weeks ago and got one 48 and one under 40. What are good baits to run there other than the depthraider?
thanks,

I readed somewhere in research is average musky fishing is so many hours per musky in that lake! Sounds like low number in the lake. Or heavy musky fishing pressure that fish see all lures but I am not sure.

Been there once, about same time frame, trolling tuffshads open water, was what won the PMTT 7 fish, in North Basin by Bell tower, Also the 2nd place team place throwing glider in south on the dieing milfoil produced 6 fish, I believe D Radloff had a good pattern of trolling and ripping suicks, he did an article in MH on this.

It gets some pressure but nothing like I hear the (good) lakes in the Midwest do.......I also thought/heard the 7 fish PMTT event (World Championships) was won in the South Basin trolling right off bottom in 14-17 feet of water. There are fish to be caught at most any depth casting or trolling.

Captain Larry Jones has a website, Mostly Muskies, that has info on your lake (go to the fishing reports section on Niagra River area). Since you didn't log in as a member I can't send you a personal message with the link, but Google knows Capt. Larry. m

thanks guys. been there a cupple of times, this seems to be a good lake, but i think I have hit a little warm both times. We seem to encounter alot of chasers and small fish. Planning another trip next year and lookin to try some different approaches as far as the trolling.
