I'm surprised nobody put this up yet. I always find it interesting how everyone faired across all of musky country. How'd it go?

Only got to fish about 2 1/2 hours Sunday evening, but figured we should try to get out while we could. It was long enough to catch my first fish in a figure 8. Nothing big at 39 inches, but fun. Went around a couple times, sunk down, came back, went around again. Then it darted off, and another couple figure 8s later came back and just got the rear hook on my Double Cowgirl. Came from a rock/crib point that tops out at about 8 feet of water and drops off quickly into 40+.

My family and I had a wonderful trip to a state park resort to celebrate Sue and I being married for 25 years; we were married there. I got some bass fishing in for a while and got a couple. My son Jon popped a 13 inch crappie. We went on an evening pontoon ride with my 89 year old mom and my kids and their Others.

Monday I hit Leesville and had one good muskie up dancing with my Perkette; she came around again on my big game twtcher all the way to the boat, but connected neither time. It was a fine weekend. ,m

Had my three brothers and dad up to Vilas with me for a weekend of grouse and musky fishing. Grouse hunting stunk, but we didn’t spend a lot of time at it either. Musky fishing was pretty good until about midday on Sat. with the warm-up. Thu. and Fri. were much better days. Ended up boating 8 fish with the largest at 47”. Check out the report on my website for full details.

Finally got a fish to hit a double-10!!! A skinny little 25" pike.

Had another follow from an upper 40's ski that nipped on the 8, but didn't take it. Still, a successful day!

Great job Travis,

My weekend was a mixed bag. First off fished the best of the best tournament and had never fished Green Bay. It was a very different expierence. I've never fished a tournament where I never made a cast. Saturday started off with a big bang. I lost an absolute monster. This fish came unpinned while my partner was getting some of the other lines in the boat. Heartbreaking to say the least. That set the tone for the rest of the day. We promptly lost two more fish that day. But none were of the caliber of the first fish. I decided to head over to Ladysmith after getting skunked on Green Bay. After the getting my arse kick there is nothing better than a quick trip to the home land. I fish Squaw lake on Sunday afternoon and didn't get a sniff. I like the way that lake looks and will make a return trip. Sunday night I picked some suckers and called it quits. On Monday I woke up at 6:00 and headed out to Connors Lake. I had a fish pick up a sucker around noon. I boated a nice 37.5" fish after a good release I rigged up another sucker. A little over hour passed and the sucker was a meal for a short but stocky 36" musky. As the afternoon progressed the weather turned into some of the nastiest rain and wind of the season. It was a 4:30 that I was twitching a Windell's Muskysnack and I caught a 41" musky on a figure eight. Tuesday morning I got the big goose egg.

nice job Travis..
DanO and I had some good luck too...we got 8 in the net with as many missed/lost...half on baits, half on meat...5 of the 8 were very fat..and the biggest I had actually caught in June as it has a distinctive mark towards the tail....2 x in one year....she likes her picture taken I guess.... we moved most fish out of cabbage which was still pretty green and healthy ...a few of the fatties...

I had my brother down for a day of fishing. Saw more fish in that one day than any previous outing. Had 15 follows, 7 on with 2 in the boat. For some reason, they were hitting short. During our lunch break we threw a couple of rods out and did a little trolling. Lost one nice fish at the boat, again poorly hooked in the snout.

My son was able to get home for the weekend so we went out for a few hours and were able to boat a 37 and lost another nice one at the boat wwhile trolling. Ilove the fall, a great time to be on the water.

Travis, I read your report on your site...we encounted the same thing on saturday about 1pm they just shut down hard core..we went 5 hours of washing baits and not moving a fish...then at 6 I was bored throwing topwater and almost got the fatty to eat but we hung around the area and she ate a sucker....they did go after dark for us too...but we had to wait it out til 8pm and they started eating....i've noticed in the last 3 weeks or so that there is a dead time from 1st dark for about 1-1.5 hours then they start to eat....

We also noticed the same thing this weekend in IL. The fish seemed to turn on between sunrise and noon, then after 1:00PM they turned off. A few follows, but nothing aggressive. Then toward sundown they seemed to turn back on again. I was expecting a window around moonrise, but that didn't happen for us.
