Posts: 91 Location: Wausau | I purchased a Mr. Automatic this past weekend and had high hopes of it moving some fish. After throwing it for a while I was a tad disapointed as I could not get the thing to stay below the surface. I would let is sink a little while but when I started to work it up it came. I added a bell sinker to the front hook hanger and that still did not work. Is a Fudally weight system the best way to get this bait to run deeper?

I would contact Muskie Safari. His name escapes me at the moment, but he is a good guy. (Spent some time chatting with him at the last Harper college show. Takes a lot of pride in his baits).......Love the Swashbuckler.

Posts: 13688 Location: minocqua, wi. | the mr. automatic has put more fish in the net for me than any other bait bar-none in the past 12 years of fishing them. it's a slooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww cadence bait, so work it slow, slow down a little and then when you've slowed down, slow down a little more and you'll be working it too fast. it's a great search bait for neutral or negative fish and fish love to eat them early season cold water. love to work it over brown cabbage. give it some time and get to know it ... it will catch fish.

Posts: 512 Location: Appleton | The taps on this bait have to be real small. Like 3" movement small. It's not like a manta where any size pull will work. Like posted above work it real slow.

Posts: 91 Location: Wausau | I will try to slow down a little, I thought I was going slow enough but I will as Sled puts it try slower. I have heard good things about the bait but I wasn't sure if it needed to get water logged like a reef hawg or if it needed to be weighted. Thanks Guys
