I have one and fished the FLW WI League last season out of it....No complaints at all and there were a few "windy" days....Anything specific you want to know? Wade

I fished out of Herbies for one day, and really like the ride, very dry and had the rough water very well, thing it is a great boat for the price, and just a plain ol fishing machine, with out all the frill of the big rangers.

Wade,

I have never had an opportunity to see or fish out of this boat. How does it handle on bigger water with less than favorable conditions (Wind)? Do you know how it compares, room and size, to the 618VS. From what I can tell it looks very similar to the 619VS, just slightly smaller. Would that be a correct assumption? Thanks for you time and feedback.

Esox,

I would say same front deck, back seems slightly smaller than the 619 with back deck. I have spnet some time in the pre 07 619 , and the 1860 handle the rought water a lot better than my buddies 619. Not sure on storage.

Thanks for all the input! Know the real question does anyone know about approximate prices for this rig? I just have not had time to do a lot of research on this boat. Thanks again for all the info!

I have fished out of the 618(very nice musky boat) and consider it more of a bass boat for inland lakes. The beam is much wider on the 1860 compared to the 618. If you are a troller, there is more room in the back than a 619/620 because the 1860 does not have the rear side storage boxes, If I remember correctly the front deck, if smaller than a 620 is not a whole lot smaller, it certainly is large enough for 2 guys casting. Handles rough water fine. I have not experienced waves coming over the bow that I know some folks have mentioned regarding the new 620's. I would say the roughest I saw was a 4 footer mixed in....When the wind was blowing at 40 mph for the Winneconne event did I get wet? Of course I did so did many others in many other brands. For both Green Bay events I would guess the waves were 2 - 4 footers dependent on where you fished..I felt fine and thought the boat handled well, but I will admit that I am not a cowboy when it comes to getting to the spot and back...Performance wise, I have a 150 Opti and with full load and decent conditions I avg. 46-48 mph. I have seen 50 mph on a rare occasion...I would think the 175 Opti Pro-XS would be a nice motor for this rig...but if a dealer has one with a 150 on the floor at a good price, I wouldn't be deterred. Good Luck.

I fish out of a Ranger 1760 Angler, with a 115 hp Yamaha, 8 hp Yamaha kicker, dual console with a full windshield. I've run it for two seasons now. I really like the boat. It handles well in rough water, fishes 2 well for muskies and 3 for bass. Trolls well with the kicker. I would definitely buy the 1760 again which would be even better now rated for a 150 hp. If I had the garage space, I'd be running the 1860 Angler with the 175 Opti Pro.

I run the 1860 Angler too, but I hung a 150 Verado and 9.9HP ProKicker off the back. If you're near SE WI, you can test drive it. I'll be north of Minocqua, WI in two weeks too.
