| Pomme de Terre Muskie Tournament Results Most of the folks in southern Missouri thought that last weekend was beautiful; blue skies, little breeze and temperatures in the 70’s headed into the 80’s. There were, however, about 130 people that were hoping for cloud cover, cooler temperatures and some wind so the fish would be active and there would be large catches during the 34th Annual Musky Tournament on Pomme de Terre Lake sponsored by the Pomme de Terre Chapter of Muskies Inc. Friday’s fishing results reflected the good weather with relatively few fish caught. 1st Place- Dave Admire, Nick Admire, 37 ¼, 37 ½ inches 2nd Place- Kurt Eustice, Sara Eustice, 42 inches, Big Musky 3rd Place- Carl Marks, 42 inches 4th Place- Luke Miller, Tyson Miller, 41 inches 5th Place- Matt Ginnings, Jim Wilson, 30, 36 inches Other catches: Steve Kolbeck, Tony Kolbeck, 40 inches Charley Rhinehart, Keith Rhinehart, 34 inches With separate payouts for Friday and Saturday/Sunday, everyone was off to a fresh start and Saturday’s results were a little better but still not what everyone hoped for. Jim Wilson, Matt Ginnings, 35 ½, 40 ¼, 36 ½ inches Gary Pearson, TJ Sawyer, 33, 40 ¾ inches Jim Brown, Joey Rissell, 41 ½ inches, Big Musky Dave Admire, Nick Admire, 33, 33 ¼ inches Peter Robinson, Andy Humm, 37 ¾ inches Steve Worstell, Todd Hardin, 36 ½ inches John Krasson, Mike Sullivan, 36 inches Luke Miller, Tyson Miller, 35 ½ inches Mike Anderson, Mark Boone, 34 ½ inches Sunday’s catch (fishing just a half day) was not great either. Brooks May, Charles May, 38 inches, Big Musky Billy Pitts, Robert Sawyer, 37 inches Final standings for the Saturday/Sunday event were as follows: Musky 1st Place- Jim Wilson, Matt Ginnings 2nd Place- Gary Pearson, TJ Sawyer 3rd Place- Jim Brown, Joey Rissell 4th Place- Dave Admire, Nick Admire 5th Place- Brooks May, Charles May It takes a lot of effort to put on a tournament of this scale and the chapter would like to thank all of its sponsors including Bass Pro Shops, www.basspro.com and Sebile USA, www.sebileusa.com Bass Pro provided lures and other merchandise and Sebile provided a boxed set of seven lures for each of the boats plus some more for giveaways. Fishing is not all that the tournament is about. Our banquet was held on Saturday night at the Senior Center in Wheatland where the food and service was great. During the evening there were five different raffles for tackle boxes, weekend getaways, GPS units custom rods and more. There were lots of door prizes and everyone in attendance came away with a lure, magazine subscription, motor oil or other great prize. You don’t have to be an experienced angler to participate in a musky tournament. The team of Admire and Admire is new to musky fishing and had only spent a couple of days on the water before the tournament, yet caught four muskies and finished in the money twice. Thanks to everyone who helped make this tournament a success and all our sponsors for their support. Mark your calendar for October 2nd, 3rd, and 4th for our 35th annual tournament in 2009. | |||

Posts: 431 | That was a brutal tourney. I'm not much of a trolling fan, but it happened for a couple of hours on Sat. and Sunday. Or rather, I should say Fred trolled and I took a nap and worked on my tan. I'm ready to get back over to Kinkaid. | ||

| Carl with a K and Marks with an X if I am not mistaken and I would have to believe if Marx with an X were a muskie fisherman he would use a 1978 Windell's Harasser with the hooks filed down to nubs and hand line it in. | |||
