I dont do any Salmon fishing on the big lakes, but noticed that the Fleet Farm in my town has Howie flies on clearance. Is the material used to make the HF the same as the flashabou used on DCGs? Wondering if I should just go buy a bunch of flies and use them for making bucktails.

they are very close, the thickness and width of the flashabou is very close. they are both glued and taped on to a piece of plastic. Which u should be able to take the fly as is and put the wire right through. Some nice colors in those flies also.
