I see the new 35W bridge in opening 9/18 so, Is there any big difference from Madison taking 94 to the Cities then up or take 94 to 53 to Duluth then over??

Leaving 9/22 for the Gil Hamm Challenge, anyone else attending?

hey Eric,

i've tried both ways. going through Duluth is more scenic, but quite a bit longer.

when i go i use this route:
- take 94 to the Cities, use 694 to go around the north side
- 94 West to exit #178: Clearwater, Hwy 24
- Hwy 24 north to Hwy 10
- Hwy 10 west past St. Cloud to Little Falls
- Hwy 371 north past Brainerd, past Walker to Cass Lake

have fun, and good luck to the CCMI team!

It totally depends on what time you will hit the twin cities imo...if you hit the twin cities at anytime near rush hour (which is like 2 hours morning and evening) you could be in for a delay...I have done both ways and always take the duluth route...94 to Eau Claire, up 53, west on 2.
simple...if you are hitting twin cities at an off time I don't think it saves you more than 20 minutes

also make sure you hit the 2 in superior and head west and don't go thru duluth if you go that route.

if you take 94 over to Minneapolis you can make a wrong turn and end up at Thorne bros,,,then proceed west on 94 hop over through st cloud up through Brainard,Walker and pit stop at Reeds for some info on whats going on at Cass,,not much longer after that,,,little slower and more expensive but funner

cass has been absolutly pounded in the muskie dept as of late i think its at what four tourneys in fourweeks i was up for the muskie mania tourny and it was just battered beyond belief i think the fish are feeling pressure hard i seen alot of cass lake monsters that weekend with no takers though so i could be wrong and its kind of sad when all you hear is cow girls and see bulldawgs being thrown my take on cas to get a fish on that lake you have to be using some thing they havent seen yet and to your ? get to 94 stop at cabelas then 10 then 371 stop at reeds
