Location: NYC (and many weeks in MN during summer) | I have the curado 300 on my jerkbait rod.
My favorite reel is a 250 te DC for downsized baits like spinnerbaits, standard bucktails and shallow raiders etc.
I also have the 400te for an all purpose reel, except no rubber (red Isis, don't care for it) or 10's and larger (for these use trinidad).
I don't have the 300 te, but am considering it myself. I like the lightest gear I can get away with that won't fail when pushed to it's limits, but not to abuse it. Line capacity will be adequate with 80# too. The te has larger gears than other reels in it's class, so it will be able to handle ANY size fish that swims in fresh water.
Just my 02c
