Thought that I would let you know that there has been a spree of robberies in the Edina, Minnesota area the past several days. Unfortunately I have found this out through a friend that had his car broken into and had all of his musky baits and tackle boxes taken from him. We are talking 100's of baits. Fortunately his insurance will cover it, but replacing baits of uniqueness and sentiment are not replaceable. Just thought that I would keep people informed.

Tell him to watch E-Bay---The police were able to nab a thief that way.

This.

I had a Stihl 088, 460, and 066 stolen after recent storms. They all turned up on ebay/Craigslist not three days after the occurence.

Whooligan,
I hope you got him. I had an ex-employee take a couple Stihl saws home. He spent the next 6 months behind bars. And I got my property back.

Fin,
I hope your buddy gets his tackle back and the sleazebag who took it gets whats coming to him. I would love to see a headline like, "Thief wrecks his car and is found with hundreds of Muskie baits stuck to him", LOL.

The M1 community has helped get a few of these guys. If you can post some of the "odd" lures and gear. Many of use sell, buy or watch eBay like hawks for musky lures/gear.

my in laws live in st louis park and my wifes uncle lives in Edina. Just curious, were these home invasions or car/boat break ins? Would like to know if the cops think the fishing gear was targeted or not. I'm a little worried because I have a lot of money invested in the gear I leave here.

Thanks
Randy

There has been a few different areas around Edina over the summer months(France Ave & 48th, West 70th & Cahill, Interlachen Area) as well as some areas in Minnetonka.

I followed up with the officer last Friday and he informed me that two other houses were reported a block away from me - in all 7 houses or cars around the neighborhood on the 26th of Aug. They took anything they could get their hands on! This shows that it wasn't targeted for fishing equipment. They even took my 15 mos old sons infant car seat.

Also my buddys godparents live close to me and was one of the cars hit. She had a bank bag left in her car - the police found that bag dumped in another driveway a few doors down. Probable making room for carrying something else.

Must be kids because a pro would know what a bank bag is or would at least check to see what is in it - oh yeah there was a couple of grand in money orders that the theives dumped to carry who knows what.

I hope they catch the RATS - and my stuff pops up.

thanks for the info. I wish for your sake you hadn't posted this, just in case the thieves were savy enough to either research or try to sell it here. Anyway, I'd be scouring craigslist and pawn shops, relentlessly!

Good luck getting your gear back
