Subject: Spring time baits?

I just recieved my InFisherman magazine in the mail, and there is a large article on musky fishing in the Spring. The article basically describes using bass sized stick baits like the larger Rapala husky jerk, for fishing Spring musky. I have used this technique for Bass before becoming an avid musky fisherman, and never had much luck catching a musky, only bass. I can't even remember a musky even following a bass sized stick bait let alone catching one!
I'm curious if any pro musky fisherman have had luck using this technigue not only for catching musky but for trophy class fish.[:sun:]
