Our family has been pondering a move to Colorado due to a great business opportunity and family that has already moved out there.  With all of the knowledge on this site I was wondering if there are any musky fishing opportunities in or around the Pueblo, Colorado area or anywhere in general. My brother in law says that there are tigers in some of the lakes out there so thought I'd check with the masses here to see what's available. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any info that you can give!

I'm working out in the Pueblo area right now and will be headed to N.Mn. next week for a job.(Const.)
I have fished Horseshoe lake (about 50 miles south) twice in the last two months and DeWeese Res.(about 60 miles west) just once.
Lake Pueblo has Tigers, but from what I have heard there are not that many in there. Horseshoe is a no wake, fishing lake with good structure and good weeds also some nice Bass that like Weagles. The other two are crowed on the weekends with Jet Skiers and pleasure boaters.
Denver has a few Tiger Lakes..... go to Muskies Inc. website and find the Col. Club and look for fishing lakes and reports.
Pueblo has been hot 95-103* but the water temp on Horseshoe last Sunday was 67* and there was snow on the mtns. Very cool......Good luck, Oh there are some nice Golf courses in the area, and at 4,900 ft. above sea level my drives have been going 20 yrds. further...LOL.

Colorado has a very active Muskies Inc club, with a great website that is very informative. You may wish to check it out and maybe join? m

try this. I spent the summer in steamboat springs working for the usfs. Sadly there were no muskie lakes around me but i used this site to find some lakes for other species. http://www.fishexplorer.com/fx/lakenav.asp

In 2003 I was in Estes Park for a Celtic Festival and saw MI signs posted on the shores of lakes noting stocked Tigers and encouraging catch and release.

This is coming from an avid muskie fisherman who was born and raised in the Mile High State. Colorado has some up and coming Tiger Musky lakes and some that are slowly falling off the map. the best tiger musky lakes in the state are as follows, Big Creek Lake ( lower) which is in the the very northwest part of the state close to the Wyoming border. Big fish, lots of weeds and a good forge base of suckers and trout.
Gross Reservoir, a deep lake that is a row only, Huge fish and lots of coves. Evergreen is probably the most accessible trolling motor only lake with lots of fish, a good bite too. Those are the lakes that I consider worth fishing for them. Horseshoe has fallen pray to the catch and keep crowd.
