I can turn my X-51 on/off (i.e. hear it turn on/off) and can hear beeps, etc... but nothing appears on the display.

Anyone have suggestions? I'd assume this problem would apply to other units not just the X-51. For what it's worth, the unit is in the bow/mounted on trolling motor.

A friend has a new 500C that the screen blacks out on to. He hasn't done anything with it yet but be interested in hearing who else is having problems and the cause.
